Steel prices may rise by about 7% as supply pressure from China decreases. In addition, cement consumption is expected to recover significantly as transportation projects accelerate.

Production Capacity Of Building Materials In Vietnam
At present, the production capacity of several important construction materials in Vietnam has increased from several dozen times to hundreds of times after 40 years of development. Construction materials manufacturers have generally met the nationwide demand for construction and infrastructure development, and many products have entered export markets such as clinker, energy-saving glass, ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles, natural paving stone, sanitary porcelain ware, and industrial lime.

In the 2024 seminar “Developing Vietnam’s Modern and Sustainable Construction Materials Industry,” Associate Professor Dr. Le Trung Thanh, Director of the Department of Construction Materials (Ministry of Construction), noted that over the past 10 years, the total production capacity of Vietnam’s key construction materials has grown to approximately 120 million tons of cement, 830 million square meters of ceramic tiles, 26 million units of porcelain sanitary ware, 330 million square meters of construction glass, 20 billion fired clay bricks, and 12 billion non-fired bricks. Among these, the production volumes of cement and ceramic tiles are among the highest in the world, with quality meeting international standards.
Notably, for sanitary ware products, the total production capacity in Vietnam is estimated to have increased 190 times, from 0.14 million units in 1994 to 26.6 million units in 2023. Moreover, these products now come in diverse designs, are competitive with imported goods, and are exported to many countries including Japan, South Korea, and the United States….

Ceramic tiles and porcelain tiles are two types of wall and floor tiles commonly used in construction projects. Vietnam is currently the leading country in Southeast Asia and ranks sixth in the world in terms of ceramic tile production.

At present, Vietnam is one of the leading steel-producing countries in Southeast Asia. According to the Vietnam Steel Association, steel production in 2022 reached approximately 29 million tons, an increase of 10% compared to the previous year.
